We are open this week on Tuesday from 6-8pm and on Wednesday from 9am to 1 pm.
Thanks to your generous donations we are able to GIVE everything away, we don’t charge anything for the items you take.
With the theft issue we have been dealing with lately, we will be limiting what each shopper takes home to 10 FREE items each week.
Our new bin has arrived and is getting a fresh paint job before being moved into position.
The Town of Trochu has installed surveillance cameras and we trust that these new improvements will stop our local thieves.
The Community Closet is meant to be a blessing to our entire county, please help us to continue to operate by supporting us with your donations and by being a respectful patron.

There is a lot to love about Trochu, but the people here are my favourite part! Last week we shared that our donation bin was being robbed repeatedly, and immediately, a woman in our town took it upon herself to organize a fundraiser, buy a used (lockable) collection bin and get it transported here. We’ve had another local businessman offer to repaint it for us. What a huge blessing!!

This fundraiser is just getting started, and sharing helps so much in the early days. Wendy is raising funds to buy a sturdy donation bin for the Community Closet Program, which provides free clothing to those in need in Trochu and area. Their current wooden box has been broken into and stolen multiple times, making it hard to keep clothes accessible for the community.

A new, secure bin will help ensure that clothes go directly to the people who need them most. The goal is to raise $1,200 for the bin and delivery, and any extra funds will go straight to the Community Closet.

We have experienced a significant disappointment recently at the Community Closet, it’s hard to even write about.

As a community initiative that gives everything away for FREE you never expect to be robbed, and yet we have been…repeatedly. Our donation bin has been burglarized repeatedly in the last months, left empty time and time again. Residents of the town have reported watching people empty it as soon as a donation is left.

We could purchase a new to us, secure donation bin, but with what money?? We give everything away for free and exist on the kindness of donations.

We ask that the robberies cease. It is a deplorable thing to rob from anyone, but this is a crime against our entire community.
