Registration is now open for the NSFA Annual General Meeting.

Following the approval of bylaw amendments earlier this year, NSFA's fiscal year-end has moved to March 31, resulting in a summer AGM. This meeting will be a focused business session covering the approval of the financial statements, budget, auditor appointment, and annual report. Policies, resolutions, nominations, and related discussions will continue to take place at Farmers' Forum in December.

We recognize that July is one of the busiest times of the year on farm, so we've designed the meeting to be efficient with only covering the necessary business portions and offering the option to attend virtually.

Following the AGM, members attending in person are invited to stay for a complimentary BBQ lunch. This is a great opportunity to slow down and reconnect with fellow farmers during the busy season. We will also be doing door prizes for some great swag!

Whether you join us in person or online, we encourage you to take part in this important business meeting. If you're able to attend in person, we hope you'll take a few hours away from the farm to connect with fellow members, enjoy a local lunch, and recharge with your farming community.

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's....a farmer on the Halifax Boardwalk!

We are excited to be heading to the Tall Ships Quay on Halifax Boardwalk on Saturday, August 1 to celebrate Food Day Canada.

Have you ever wanted to channel your inner Alex Trebek or Regis Philbin? We're looking to recruit some farmers to co-host our Food Day Canada Trivia Challenge!

We are booking 1-hour time slots between 10am-2pm. Test Nova Scotians food and farming knowledge, and then head down the boardwalk to enjoy the Halifax Buskerfest or Natal Day weekend celebrations!

If you're interested in playing game show host, send us a message or email [email protected]!

This project will develop hands-on resources to help you manage water on your farm — including updated Environmental Farm Plan supports, on-farm assessments, and a network of technical advisors. But first, we need to hear from you. Your experience will shape everything that comes next.

Farmers know their land best! Before we build a workplan, we're hosting planning sessions to make sure the support we develop actually fits the realities of your operation. Your input directly shapes what gets built and how funding gets used.
