I’m finally going on a quick vacay very soon! 😎🏍️

I wanted to let everyone know that there will be NO seamstress this weekend at The Village Creative Touch. I will be gone from September 18th to the 21st. Any clothing alterations coming in within the next few days will be alittle bit longer turn around.

The shop will continue to be open during normal hours this weekend, with Carly and Marlene holding the fort for me. 🥰
Truly grateful for these ladies as I am finally going to have my summer… scratch that… fall mini vacay! Woohoo!!

I am SO excited to introduce you to the newest maker joining The Village Creative Touch….Carly! 🧵🪡

I’m sure many of you have already heard about her beautiful creations, and I can honestly say that our friendship was pretty much instant! 🥰 We quickly discovered our shared love for sewing and creating, so having her join the Village just felt right!

“Carly is a Tweed local now living in Central Frontenac who retired after 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and picked up a sewing machine. From her cabin overlooking a lake, she creates two one-of-a-kind collections.
The Petit & Mighty Cubes are handcrafted fabric storage cubes in four sizes, perfect for organizing at home, when travelling, or gift giving. The Stitch & Send Postcards are quilted and appliquéd fabric cards you can actually mail, or keep forever.
Everything is made in small batches from limited fabrics. When it is gone, it is gone.”

And there’s even more exciting news… you’ll also be seeing Carly in the shop! When I need that extra day off after my usual six-day work stretch, Carly will be helping hold down the fort. ❤️

Right now, you can find Carly’s gorgeous Stitch & Send Postcards at the shop, with her fabric cubes coming soon!

And I’m pretty proud to say… I was her VERY FIRST CUSTOMER! 🥰 One of her beautiful postcards is headed to my very special friend and pen pal in New Brunswick. ❤️💌

The weather has been nice lately but the nights have started to get a bit chilly. Perfect timing for our new maker to make her presence at the shop.
To those that I have been raving about her coming… Marion’s creations are finally here from Green Meadow Alpacas! 🥰🦙

“We are a small alpaca farm in Springbrook, Ontario, providing a healthy and happy environment to our alpacas.
I create hand-spun yarn and knitted accessories such as hats, headbands, mitts, scarves, leg warmers to keep you warm [during the chilly weather] and all winter long. -Marion”
