In the process of our firewall modifications, some rust was unearthed at the bottom of the A-pillars at the lower door hinge reliefs. As shown here in the before & after photos Brandon hand-fabricated the replacement pieces required before welding them in place to make them all as they were new from the GM line in 1960. Aug 31/26 "Nothing Else Matters" - Update

It's been a full month since we've posted last but with some days off to enjoy the summer with family, together with the time consuming task of completing this stage... August has passed. That said shown here are shots of Brandon's design and hand fabrication of our '60 Impala's dash. The extended setback design is all part of his master plan to accommodate the 14 inch setback of our 2500 HP engine.

Not just designed to fit, but built to be easily removable for any future maintenance of this one-off original. If you are wondering why... the answer is because he can. Where most would just leave out the stock dash of a custom chromoly round tube chassis car, Brandon has gone the extra mile to make our '60 Impala worthy of it's name... "Nothing Else Matters"

July/30/26 "Nothing Else Matters" - Update
In an effort to get the build of "Nothing Else Matters" exactly the way we want it, Brandon completely re-engineered the front strut mounting location of our '60 Impala to lower the nose 2 inches. This involved much more than just fabricating new upper strut mounts. Many hours were spent recalibrating angles throughout the full range of suspension travel which included the construction of jigs to get all his angles correct before welding in place.

This process included the fabrication of new steering rack mounts to relocate the rack as to eliminate any bump steer in the 6 inches of travel with our remote reservoir 90/10 struts. All well worth the time and effort spent...

June 22/26 "Nothing Else Matters" - Update
Our '60 Impala project has achieved yet another mile marker. Brandon has completed the construction of our full floating differential. Shown here are photos of the process starting with a chromoly Chris Alston Fab-9 housing. Once shortened to our desired length the 4 bar mounts are welded in place and braced before both custom cut back braces as well as lower tube cross braces were welded in place. The Strange Engineering full floater ends were then machined to fit before being welded in place. Then the back brace ends were fabricated for a perfect fit and welded in place before primed.
