Some books just hit you right in the heart. This was one of those books, and I know it’s going to stay with me forever.

If you’re subscribed to my newsletter, you may have seen the email I sent out a few weeks ago talking about how much I loved the book Finding Flora by Elinor Florence, as well as some reflections on my own family’s history on this land in central Alberta.

If you’ve read Finding Flora, I’d love to hear what you thought. And if you haven’t, I’d highly recommend it…it might just get you thinking about your own ancestors, too.

Can you believe it’s almost June already?! The longest days of the year are upon us, and that means that the plant life all around us will be bursting into full bloom before we know it.

These are a few of my favourite things to forage this time of year on the prairies. Have you been out searching for any wild plants yet? If so, what have you found? Let me know in the comments!

What does “looking younger” even mean, anyway? And at what cost? Financially, toxically, emotionally, or otherwise.

Imagine if we put the same energy into being kinder. Happier. More creative. Better friends, parents, and partners.

Personally, I have no desire to look 20 into my 40s, and if you’re with me, we should probably be friends.

Hello 👋🏻 I’m Jess … to those of you who are new here or have been around since the beginning of PSS!
I’m the maker, owner and creator behind this beautiful business. I say it’s beautiful bc everything is inspired and created from nature, I have wonderful customers and supporters, and well, I just like making beautiful products for you! I’m quite proud of it all!!
This spring/summer I won’t be at markets, but online shop is always open. I’ll be busy foraging, gardening, infusing, & distilling new goodies. And also I’ll be at baseball and soccer for my kiddos, building a new school playground with some camping and exploring in between 💛
