Tomorrow, the Sault Female Hockey Association is proud to host the Deb Sims Memorial Tournament .. a weekend that means so much more than hockey.

We are incredibly proud to welcome teams from associations across Ontario and Michigan. Thank you for making the trip to join us and for being part of a weekend that celebrates community, competition, and the incredible growth of girls’ hockey on both sides of the border.

Debbie first became involved with SFHA as a devoted grandmother and aunt, cheering from the stands. After retiring from Your Neighbourhood Credit Union following 38 years of service, she poured her heart fully into female hockey in Sault Ste. Marie. What started at the rink quickly became a legacy of leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication.

She wore countless hats within our association, always organized, always dependable, and always leading with kindness. Debbie believed deeply in creating opportunity for girls in sport. She believed they belonged on the ice, in leadership roles, and in every space they chose to pursue.

This weekend, we honour her the best way we know how: with hard work, teamwork, sportsmanship, and community.

Deb, this one’s for you.
