Shazmin Hussein "Painting With Light"

Shazmin Hussein  is a Canadian artist raised in Vancouver, BC. With a keen eye for the posture of the female figure and colour, Shazmin’s history in modelling and makeup artistry has informed her vibrant and playful compositions. Her figurative and abstract acrylic paintings express freedom and change.

Drawing the viewer’s attention to their formative and differentiating curves. Her colourful palettes live in harmony with dark tones, bold patterns, and soft lines. Inspired by pop art, cubism, nature, fashion, and the unacknowledged influences of the subconscious mind, Shazmin’s bright acrylics guide us to look deeper into society’s ideals of beauty, embrace our differences, and consider what it means to own our individuality.

New exhibit now on display!
IDEET SHARON + SOPHIA BOUTSAKIS
March 4 - 31, 2026

Ideet Sharon is a Vancouver based artist, exploring themes of connection, abstraction, and geometric entanglement. She studied at an arts high school, attended the Vancouver Film School in the late 90’s, followed by a career as a computer graphics artist and animator to this day. From her studio in East Van, Ideet combines diverse mediums on canvas and panel, examining organic and geometric forms and the spaces they inhabit.sharon

Sophia Boutsakis is a visual artist based in Vancouver, BC. She holds a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and works out of her studio at Parker Street Studios. Sophia's multidisciplinary practice includes painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and print media. Her process is often an exploration of repeated subject matter across these mediums, with a concentration on materiality.
