Wrapping left overs/covering bowls, plates etc is one of the main ways we use beeswax wraps in our home. Once finished with it, you can re-use it for up to a year or possibly longer with proper care! Just wash with a non abrasive tool, dish soap and cold water (NOT hot water, this will damage the wraps and effect their ability to perform as intended. After washing, lay out to dry!
P.S. you may notice the wrap lifting from the casserole dish slightly at the very end of the video. I filmed this when the dish was still slightly warm, which is not ideal, as it can melt the mixture on the wrap and cause it to be more slippery than sticky. After filming I left the container and wrap cool fully , and the wrap was able to adhere to the dish and create an air tight seal with no issues afterwards! Even experts still make mistakes sometimes. What you see there doesn’t speak accurately to the quality or longevity of the wraps, nor their ability to adhere to surfaces. I thought about leaving it out or re-filming when everything was cool, but I figured this was a good educational moment.
Thanks for watching, and reading. If you’ve made it this far in the caption drop a 🍯 in the comments, or tell us - have you tried beeswax wraps? Why or why not? ☺️🐝
