Yesterday, my sweet dog Bowie, my best friend of seven years, was hit by a car.

I am completely heartbroken and honestly still in shock. Bowie isn’t just a pet—he’s family. Many of you know him as the mascot of Lit Love, always nearby while I worked, packed boxes, read books, and built this little business. He has been by my side through some of the hardest and happiest moments of my life.

I hate asking for help, but right now I am facing the possibility of having to make decisions about Bowie’s care based solely on money, and that is a position I never imagined I would be in.

I know that from the outside it may look like owning a business means financial stability, but I want to be transparent. Nearly everything I earn goes directly back into keeping Lit Love running. Like many small business owners, I don’t have significant savings, and I’m doing my best just to get by personally.

If you are able to donate, even a dollar, it would mean the world to us. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would be an incredible help and something I would be deeply grateful for.

Bowie is still at the veterinary hospital, and right now I’m waiting anxiously for updates. The uncertainty is overwhelming, and this is a feeling I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

I also want to let my Lit Love community know that I may be slower than usual responding to emails over the next few days. This is also our monthly shipping week, and while I am doing everything I can to stay on top of things, orders may ship a little later than normal. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

🚨 Summer Merch Alert! 🚨

We’re switching things up and moving to seasonal merch drops! Going forward, our designs will launch by season and only be available for a limited time so we can keep everything feeling fresh and fun. ☀️📚

Our current bookish tees + Summer Collection designs will be available until August 15th, after which they’ll be retired and replaced with brand-new Fall designs. 🍂

🥤ALSO — our b**r can glasses got an upgrade!

Previously, we used a sticker-style application, but we received feedback about peeling, bubbling, and difficulty washing them (plus they weren’t dishwasher friendly).

We’ve now upgraded to sublimation printing, which means:
✨ Designs are smooth and permanent
✨ No peeling or bubbling
✨ Dishwasher safe

We still recommend hand washing to keep the designs extra vibrant and long-lasting, but we love that you now have the dishwasher option too!

And the second piece of news for today...

We’re also soft launching shipping to the USA again! We’ve partnered with a new shipping provider that allows us to include tariffs, duties, and fees right in the upfront cost, so there will be no surprise customs charges at delivery.

While shipping south of the border does involve a little more paperwork and slightly higher rates, we’re thrilled to be able to share the love with our U.S. customers again. What you see on the website is exactly what you’ll pay — simple, clear, and stress-free!

Note: we cannot ship food or beverages to the USA so substitutions will be in your boxes for these items.
