Today is world wild life day! We have an icon in our community that we would love to send some monetary love to, Elizabeth of Elizabeths Wildlife Center ( elizabethswildlife.ca) I have been to Elizabeth many times with wildlife that I have found and also that was delivered to my door. The most memorable was a giant grey heron that had unfortunately been struck by a vehicle on Hwy 1 and no one stopped. I was on my way home from my corporate job when I saw this poor fella' struggling on the side of the busy highway. When i initially approached he did what he could to lunge that giant beak at me to scare me away to keep himself safe. Eventually ( and miraculously) I earned his trust with many on lookers watching us and he let me approach and wrap him in a blanket to deliver him to Elizabeth and her volunteers. To earn the trust of this giant bird and do what i could to get him to safety will always be special to me - being in the right place at the right time. Today we are all in the right place at the right time to support Elizabeth and the incredible work she and her volunteers do as 100% of our profits @ LPB to purchases made today will be donated to her rescue.

We know them right ? Our girlfriends out there bringing every plant home and hoping her husband / partner doesn't see the addition to the indoor jungle they're already living in. Can we just agree to love and celebrate them?
