Granville Island Soap Gallery Summer hours start on May 1st to Nov 1st we are open 10am-6pm. Soap classes are also taught on site every week!

Handmade, natural and organic soaps as well as a whole host of amazing and delicious looking soaps made right here in the store. We also carry locally made products from around BC including artwork, candles, cards, body and hair care products with a focus on natural and sustainably made items. We are famous for our soaps that look like actual cakes, donuts and cupcakes....good enough to eat...almost!

Ok....time for a relaxing bath.... I just don't wanna go shopping or one more party! Maybe a scoop of hydrating, skin softening bath salts from Granville Island Soap Gallery..... no rush....we carry these all the time. Winter, spring, summer and fall..... I do love a Green Tea and Jasmine bath salt soak. A little goes a long way as they are super concentrated.

What's the easiest way to keep hydrated and looking fresh other??....other than drinking more water? Supplying your skin...

So...Christmas is over...now what!? Time for all the New Years Resolutions that we work towards if not in practice then in theory or intent. This year...with the dry season ( yeh we get one here in Vancouver) how about simply using a nice fatty bar of olive oil soap. One that won't dry you out or make you feel itchy!

So...those who have visited our store know that we are a gift shop that sells more than handmade luxury cosmetics and soaps. We also carry home goods and glass items, soft goods and handcrafted leather items. I particularly LOVE our handcrafted " hermes" bags. Not a copy nor attempting to be one. Years ago when Hermes went from saddle manufacturers to an extended leather goods line they made a particular triangle shaped bag that had a simple lining and zipper at the top. A more feminine line of duffle bag for travel and carting sporting goods around. Now we have reimagined this long forgotten style in hand crafted napped leather, small batch tanning, with no harsh chemicals in the vintage triangular tote. In three different sizes they are flying out of our store. Call or stop by for prices...we have a sale on right now. Check out our selection of women's "bucket bags in natural tan or black leather as well pictured here. Gorgeous and they just keep getting softer and more supple each year of use.

Some of the best additives to our soaps I found recently in Istanbul. Not that I bought tons of spices and herbs there but because they were displayed so beautifully it gave us opportunity to sample unusual scenes and colors so when I came home I could source a local supplier(s).

Granville Island Soap Gallery has had an amazing year this 2025 with more than a few surprises, delights and learning experiences! Look, I know that I'm remiss in doing any kind of Facebook posts but that's because we're just being so darn busy this whole year. One of the best things about being a Canadian company and maintaining 98% of our product either Canadian designed or formulated or constructed right here in Canada is that it takes a little bit of work to do so and we are extremely happy with the results. Not only do we have undoubtedly and arguably the most varied mix of soaps for a store in British Columbia but we also partner with many people across Canada and locally who are Master soap makers and other Craftsmen and artisans to create products for our store that you simply can't buy on Etsy or eBay. One of the interesting tasks for our store is procuring product from other soapmakers rather than making the (usually) 90% of our soaps ourselves. We've created wonderful relationships with those people. Years ago when I used to do farmers markets I loved when another soaper would walk by clandestinely giving me the side eye and I'd say "come on honey get over here and tell me what kind of soap you make and what's your favorite and why did you get into it and tell me all about yourself" and the next thing you know I would have made a new friend and I would have bought all of their product that they didn't sell at the Farmers Market! We absolutely love supporting women's initiatives and family-run businesses and small businesses in Canada because I truly believe that keeping money here at home is what makes our economy and our social world running. 2025 has been an amazing year and okay, okay I promise I'll be doing more Facebook posts for the store this upcoming year! Our ugliest soap is probably our hardest to make...certainly the hardest to get the ingredients for but easily the fastest selling. ACNE soap constantly has a waiting list of 50+ people at any one time. Why don't I make it faster? Ingredients like diamond dust, kelp, organic green tea, essential oils, aged black tea, kaolin clay and more are hard to source sometimes. Remember that ship blocked in Suez Canal? Put a crimp in the works for a bit....now its cutting day....fun!
