Some days at Catoro leave you completely exhausted.
Our day began just before 6:00 a.m. as we got one of our cats ready for an early drop-off at our dental specialist for full-mouth teeth extractions.
Last night, before bed, we sat down with the cat and told her everything that was going to happen.
Over the years Iāve started talking to all the cats we care for. I ask them about their day, their opinion on things. I tell them my biggest fears, my biggest regrets, my insecurities. Honestly Iāve probably told them more than everyone else in my life combined . They also (in their own way) tell you the same things if you take the time to listen.
We dropped her off and the vet and went in to Catoro. Spoiler alert: things didnāt slow down after that.
Today we welcomed six new little lives that now call Catoro home. Each one of them has a sad story, but now they will hopefully get a happy ending āŗļøā¤ļø
After our team did intake exams on the new cats and got them settled in quarantine, there was still more happening. It was time for the moment we had been quietly prepping ourselves for all day .
If youāve been following Catoro over the past year, you probably know Tom & Jerry.
Tom & Jerry are the most silly, adorable, hilarious, bonded pair of brothers. They were rescued after someone threw them out the window of a moving car. Tom & Jerry have been with us since last September and our team has become so bonded with them in that time!
In between all of this, we checked guests in, made drinks, introduced people to the cats in the Cat Forest, helped several folks interested in adoption, replied to emails, ordered supplies, cleaned the cafe & cat forest, scooped litter boxes and scheduled upcoming vet appointments.
Iām tired just thinking about it.
After all that, we picked our kitty up from the vet and brought her home to monitor her after her big dental surgery.
Now see you tomorrow š«”
