I tend to put things on sale when I'm really annoyed at myself for accidentally ordering way too many for example these Canson XL sketchbooks. 100 sheets. 50 pound paper. 5 1/2 x 8 1/2". Perforated sheets. Hardcover! There's absolutely nothing wrong with these books. There is definitely something wrong with my ordering system! I have corrected the code so it won't be happening again, but at the moment I have like 25 of these. I usually have about six on hand. So this week these are 25% off. Regular price is $29.75 and on sale they'll be about $22.50.

On display this month at Rath Art Supplies! A collaboration between two wonderful people, here's what they have to say about this piece: A few months ago, on Mother's Day, we started this piece together.
We wanted to create something that paid tribute to Vinces mom,
who tragically passed away ten years ago.
Cardinals were her favourite bird, and this piece became our way of exploring how the people we love continue to live on through the natural world.
A bird that appears at just the right moment. A familiar feeling.
A quiet reminder that the people we love never truly leave us.
Over the following months, this painting slowly came to life through layers of enamel paint, pure silver leaf, and a lot of patience.
A heartfelt thank you to our friend Emily Miller for building the custom frame that brought the piece together so beautifully. and Theresa who allowed us to exhibit Afterlife here at Rath Art Supplies throughout the month of August.

You know what would be fun to do this weekend? This could be the perfect weekend to check out a really cool art studio building on a nice chill June weekend outside of the zany culture crawl crowds in the fall. Eastside Atelier is open June 5 and sixth at 1310 William Street at Clark. Open 5 to 10 PM June 5 and noon to 5 PM June 6. Opening reception with raffle prizes, beer and chocolate tonight!
