This is a giant morion Smoky Cathedral from Brazil. One of the most monumental crystals in the gallery.  Custom metal work mount by artist Sandra Bilawich Sandra Bilawich who artfully balanced this 400+ lb piece allowing it to be fully huggable.

Ahhh Aquamarine

Flashback to the time Susie and Jen opened this wonderful multiply terminated aquamarine. It's such a unique specimen we've never seen a termination like this before! It comes from Brazil and was mined many decades ago. Recently released from a private collection and available for purchase.

Trigonal amethysts!
These matching triplets spheres were cut out of the heart of fine Brazilian amethyst crystals. It's very unique to find them so clear that allows you to see the clearly trigonal crystal structure.

During ancient Greek times goblets were carved out of amethyst with the belief that you could drink endlessly and not get drunk! In fact the name amethyst comes from amethystos which means 'not intoxicating'. Modern metaphysical meanings include bringing sobriety which is kind of the antithesis of the original intent.

Rose quartz phenomenon!
This stunning Brazilian rose quartz contains an optical effect due to microscopic needles arranged in flat plains that when it's got into a sphere create a star pattern.

We found this little interesting tidbit on the ever educational website called mindat.org:
"Rose quartz owes its hazy appearance and colouring to microscopic fibrous inclusions of a pink borosilicate mineral related to dumortierite."

And now a little note about the metaphysics of rose quartz: This beautiful pink mineral is known as the stone of love. It's said to open and activate the heart chakra, which nurtures and activates the rest of the energy centres. Rose quartz reminds us of the importance of self-love and to understand that as the starting point for healing; teaching us that from a place of love we can overcome anything..🤗💖💕

It's so nice to sit on!
This approximately 300 lb Indonesian fossilized Rosewood is one of a pair of stools in the gallery. They're about 20 million years old and so grounding to sit on that we recommend people go have a seat if they feel a little off balance when they're in the gallery. Petrified wood is known to be a very grounding Stone and these stools are certainly cool and comforting! This one shows the hollow center of the tree trunk and although fully polished all the way around you can tell by this feature it was a live tree at some point in time.

Petrified wood was formed millions of years ago.
It was preserved and fossilized in a cataclysmic event (such as a volcanic eruption) that occurred covering this tree and ash and creating an anaerobic condition. The ground waters rich in silica entered the cellular structure of the wood preserving the original tree body and details.

Magical Himalayan quartz!
This sweet double terminated chloride coated quartz displays the brightest lustre on one side that you can look right through and see a darling doubly terminated Crystal that grew out on the surface. What a unique piece!

Rainbow quartz Guan Yin🌈✨
Created over a decade ago in China by now retired Master Carver Mr. Wei. This intricate intaglio was carved in material River tumbled quartz crystal utilizing tools specially developed for the intricacies of internal carving.

Lemirian cluster extraordinaire!
This golden healer Lemurian is the largest we've ever seen. It was mined in Brazil approximately a decade ago. We were blown away when we found it because we don't usually see clusters from this location of this extreme size and finding a golden healer Lemurian is also quite rare.
