One of the first kitchens I ever designed and project managed entirely on my own.
Looking back at this project now, I remember so much more than the finished space.
I remember being a one-person team designing, coordinating, problem-solving, making decisions and navigating all the unexpected bumps that come with bringing a renovation to life.
It definitely wasn’t a flawless process, but seeing the final design come together made every challenge worth it. More importantly, it confirmed something for me: I wanted to keep doing this.
For this kitchen, we created a French-inspired space with a modern twist classic details, a restrained palette, strong contrast and materials that wouldn't feel tied to one particular moment in design.
Years later, I still look at this kitchen and feel like it holds up.
And that has become an important part of how I approach design today.
I don’t necessarily want to design around whatever happens to be trending at the time. I want to create spaces that feel considered, personal and timeless spaces my clients can continue to love long after the latest trend has passed.
This project was one of the early ones that helped shape that philosophy for me.
And it will always be a special one.
