Our bean to bar chocolate is made from scratch using premium single origin cacao beans. We carefully handcraft small batches of chocolate that make you go 'ohhhh!' and 'yummm!' in our workshop located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island.

We were in Vancouver yesterday attending the trade show . The show connects BC based food and beverage brands with buyers from retail, corporate and hospitality.

BC businesses are amazing for their support of local producers; the show was buzzing with buyers looking for new BC made products to offer their customers. And we were fortunate to connect with several buyers who enjoyed tasting our chocolate and intend to become a Roxy’s customer 🥳🍫.

Shout out to a new discovery for us: delicious, healthy sparkling soda with unique flavours and beautiful packaging … ❤️🍁!

We love making chocolate, bringing smiles to so many faces and a feeling of yumminess 🍫😋.

And like any small business, making chocolate is hard work. So we allow ourselves a break every so often, to refresh ourselves, relax and rejuvenate.

Yesterday, we were fortunate to be on the waters of Campbell River, enjoying the summer like temperature, marveling at the stunningly beautiful mountain ranges, spying on seals sunnying themselves, hawks gliding about, all with an amazing friend we’ve known for decades. And for once, we didn't talk about chocolate (well, just a little bit 😊).

We recently donated our chocolate to the annual fundraiser for the Marine Education and Research Society - - an organization devoted to caring for marine mammals.

With research focused on whales, MERS seeks to understand and reduce anthropogenic impacts on marine species. And this research directly influences their educational efforts to motivate behavioural change to reduce threats and inspire responsible stewardship.

Research, Education and Response are equally important to the Marine Education and Research Society. Each informs the other, ensuring a holistic and integrated approach to marine conservation.

The MERS online auction is open from April 9 - 12. The fundraiser supports marine conservation work and celebrates amazing artists, businesses, and individuals who have contributed vacations, art, gift certificates, food, housewares, apparel, books, etc.

We know it’s Sunday, the perfect day to rest and rejuvenate, but we couldn’t wait to share that we are sharing our chocolate with more and more chocolate lovers across Canada 🍁 🍫.

Our newest partner is at 1539 Avenue Rd, Toronto. For more than 60 years, Pusateri’s grocery store has been serving customers with gourmet, artisanal and imported products. Importantly, they partner with The Daily Bread Food Bank to which they have donated more than 7000 kg of food during the past several years.

Pusateri’s philosophy and purpose is simple: fill life with quality food worth celebrating 🥳. We’re honoured that Pusateri’s is now carrying all of our chocolate bars, sharing our creations with their customers 🍫😋!

Unfortunately, chocolate making does not happen with the wave of a magic wand 🪄. Instead, making bean-to-bar craft chocolate is a time consuming labour of love. Like any small business owner working 6-7 days a week, to avoid burnout, we need to take care of ourselves, and this involves taking time out to literally smell the flowers 🌸.

Ahhhh, spring … symbolizing renewal, awakening of new energy. Wishing peace and good chocolate to all 🍫☮️.

If you are not familiar with les amis du FROMAGE, here's a brief background:

Founded in 1985, is a family owned and operated specialty cheese store with two locations in Vancouver. They offer an expertly curated selection of local and imported cheeses, charcuterie and accompaniments, and frozen soups and meals, all made in house using top quality ingredients.

les amis du FROMAGE has been voted “Best Cheese Shop” by readers of The Georgia Straight, The Westender and The Courier, and has been awarded Vancouver Magazine’s Restaurant Award for Top Food Supplier to Vancouver’s best restaurants and hotels.

Though we no longer live in Vancouver, every time we visit (several times/ year), our first stop is les amis du FROMAGE. The cheese selection is extraordinary; the flavours make you melt in delight and pleasure.
