If you have been waiting for new shipments of baskets from Ghana or ceramics from Palestine, you're in luck! They are now on our shelves.
Baskets include large and small round ones, plus regular patterned or natural-colour fibre ones.
The bright ceramics come in familiar styles plus some new designs.

Mongolia is known for its wool products. We have a new shipment that includes warm and soft socks from camel, yak or sheeps' wool. There are gift sets of a finely embroidered oven mitt and hot pad, plus small purses. We have refilled our stock of cozy white felt boot liners, and have a small number of red wool slippers.
Visit Global Village Store at Hillside Centre, Victoria BC, and take some fine Mongolian crafts home with you.

Consider Global Village Store at Hillside Centre in Victoria BC when looking for children's gifts. We carry a variety of Fair Trade items, including stuffed dolls, child-size aprons and purses, yoyos, musical instruments, finger puppets, hanging decorations, and felted wool booties for infants. These handmade products generate income to support women and children in low-income countries through our not-for-profit store.

Try some wild African honey while supporting thousands of beekeepers in Zambia and Tanzania.
Try a small bottle of cacao flavour or spicy honey. The miombo blossom honey is suggested for everyday use on toast or in tea. These products are stronger than pasteurized honey, so a little goes a long way.
Check out the convenient combination packages for gift-giving, or give honey vinegar as a hostess gift. These Fair Trade products are bottled in Ontario and are available daily at Global Village Store, Victoria BC.

Windchimes from artisans in India are a pleasant addition to decks, open windows, or hung on a door.
Note the traditional styles that keep the art of bell-making alive, and some newer painted styles that add colour as well as sound.

Acknowledge someone wise in your life with an owl symbol. A small Fair Trade gift for a teacher, mentor, or friend.

The owl windchime is from Indonesia. The felted owls beside it are made by rural and indigenous women in Peru. Other examples are quilled paper from Vietnam, ceramics from Guatemala and soapstone from Kenya.
Global Village Store is volunteer-run, open daily at Hillside Centre, Victoria.

Fans of recycling will appreicate these items that use second-hand materials in creative ways.

From Vietnam we receive lightweight garden totes, wallets and luggage tags made from rice or fertilizer bags, plus small containers made from strips of magazines. In India, producers create scarves, bags, coasters, pillows, and coverlets from torn saris. Clever Fair Trade ways to help the environment!

It's time for farmers' markets! Global Village Store carries sturdy tote bags and baskets that are excellent for holding yours choices. If you prefer a smaller folding bag that fits in your pocket or purse like the one with butterflies, we have those too. Located at Hillside Centre, Victoria.

Small boxes can store your treasures or everyday small items in style.
Artisans have crafted these Fair Trade boxes from a variety of materials, incuding papier-maché, soapstone, bamboo, recycled magazines, and cinnamon bark.
There's another category that looks similar, but they actually hold sets of coasters. These handy table protectors are made from papier-maché or bamboo.
Open daily at Hillside Centre, Victoria, including Thursday and Friday nights until 9pm. Just in time for Mother's Day on May 10.
