In Episode 308, we’re stamping over a silver hot-foiled Botanical Glow panel and adding Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, and just enough sparkle. The foil is prepared ahead of time—we’ll focus on the stamping and bringing the card together.

Pink for fall? Absolutely.

Berry Burst and Bubble Bath give this handmade card a soft, happy feeling, while Pecan Pie adds the warmth that pulls it into a fall colour palette.

It isn’t a traditional autumn combination—and that’s the point.
Trying unexpected Stampin’ Up! colour combinations is one of the easiest ways to stretch your supplies and discover a completely different look from the same card design. No new layout required. Just change the colours and see where they take you.

Fall colours don’t always have to be orange, brown and red.

Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight sit on opposite sides of the colour wheel 🎨 —which means they bring plenty of contrast when they’re used together.

Gray Granite acts as the neutral and keeps this handmade card from feeling too bright or busy. The finished colour combination is cheerful, balanced and still works beautifully for fall.

This is why I love experimenting with unexpected card-making colour combinations. You don’t have to know with absolute certainty that the colours will work before you begin. Sometimes you need to stamp them, place them together and see what happens.
You might just find a new favourite.

Would you have put these three colours together?

Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss and Basic Gray may not be the most obvious fall card colour combination—but that’s exactly why I tried it.

The soft grey gives everything room to breathe, Old Olive brings the fall feeling, and Blackberry Bliss adds just enough richness and contrast. Together, they create a handmade card that feels earthy, warm and a little unexpected.

Consider this your friendly reminder that colour coordination doesn’t mean every choice has to be predictable. Sometimes the combination that makes you pause is the one worth testing.

Ever look at a stamped card and think, “It just needs a little something…”?

Tomorrow, I’m sharing a simple shadow-stamping trick that adds a touch of contrast and dimension—without adding another complicated technique.

For Episode 307, I’m using the Stampin’ Up! Simply Leaves Bundle with Lost Lagoon and Barely Blush. We’ll also cover:
🍁 Getting a clean image from a large solid stamp
🎨 Choosing colours that contrast and coordinate
✨ Adding a subtle shimmer-splattered background
✂️ Creating the offset-shadow effect
💌 Adapting the design with stamps you already own

It’s a small design detail, but it’s a handy one to have in your card-making toolbox.

Stop wasting cardstock! If you're using a punch, measure your cardstock to about half an inch and cut it into strips. This prevents excess material and saves you from cutting unnecessary pieces.
