With our 40th summer fishing season underway I’m very happy with the results of spring maintenance this year. My Seasport which I bought new 34 years ago in 1992 is no looking her age at all. The 1997 Yamaha 200 2 stroke is running like a new engine. I just replaced all the fuel lines because I was seeing signs that ethanol was degrading them. Next year this Yamaha turns 30. Not bad engine life often pushing heavy loads and saltwater operations.

Its that time of the year once again. She gets her one polish and wax which has kept this Seasport that I bought new in 1992 looking like new. Not my favourite job but gratifying when completed. Its a process that seems to work.

Todays wind forecast made me think that I should take my charter clients which included two young boys over to Sidney waters for some calmer water. The first part worked as the water was flat for 4 1/2 of the 5 hours. We released a couple of undersize prior to tide change then on the change we got into a quick 1/2 hour bite period. A couple of nice hatchery Chinook at 80 and 85 cm put smiles on the guests. They are tent camping and plan on a fresh salmon dinner tonight.
