🔥10 Questions to ask about your CBD oil! Not all CBD oil is equal. Read below to better educate yourself on the different types of oils.🔥🔥
Is it really CBD oil or some other type of oil?
Because of the static and noise in the CBD space, there can be less than scrupulous manufacturers looking to take your hard earned money. For example, h**p seed oil, olive oil, generic MCT oil may be substituted for real CBD?
How is your CBD oil extracted?
There are many ways to extract the valuable oil from the h**p plant. Some are good and some, well, not so good. A good oil is manufactured using CO2 gas under pressure. Some oils will use ethanol as a solvent to extract additional oils, terpenes, and bioflavonoids. The key is the complete removal of the solvent. A premium oil will show independent analysis of purity in the extraction process, removing solvents if used, heavy metals, and even THC if a “pure” oil is desired. Many companies will say they have purified oils, but will not be able to show the certification of analysis. Only deal with a company that can deliver the certification.
Is your CBD pure? CBD can be sold with trace amounts of THC in nearly every state without issue, but an oil that is “pure” is ideal for someone wanting the benefits of CBD without the risk of having THC in their system.
A study by Consumer Reports last year showed that the THC concentrations in oils can vary wildly. If you want “pure” don’t count on labeling that may not represent what is truly in the oil.
Are the genetics of the h**p plant favorable to a premium grade CBD product? H**p plants, like humans, have different genetics; genetics that can determine a high concentration of CBD and favorable terpenes. You want a plant that is a CBD Olympian and not a CBD couch potato! A trustworthy grower is essential to providing the raw materials for a high-quality product.
Where is the h**p grown? This is critical. H**p is a bio-accumulator; a plant that concentrates both the good and bad in soils. Toxins like dioxin, heavy metals, chemical fertilizers, sulfur dioxide, nicotinamides, GMO waste products, and other compounds can be found in the soils from which most h**p is harvested.
Pristine, high-country, soils with organic growing practices provide a world-class product.
Is the grower using organic practices? Cutting corners to get a product to market and cutting short on best growing practices may be the norm and not the exception in the world of h**p production. Look for a grower/manufacturer that is gladly able to produce verification of organic practices. Not having organic “certification” may not be a deal breaker. A grower committed to organic growing practices may be in the process of certification—working toward the goal.
Is your h**p sourced from a single farm? This is related to the question immediately above and how it relates to quality control.
Are there synthetic additives and preservatives that do not add to the absorption or stability of the CBD oil? Premium oils will add only natural carrier oils, flavorings, or enhancements.
Is the company you are purchasing from committed to innovation? Innovation is what got us to this point of benefitting from this amazing compound we call CBD. So, to that end, developing better genetics, higher grade oils, better carrier mechanics, and even synergistic co-ingredients can benefit all of us who enjoy this natural gift.
Is your source of quality CBD oil financially sound and professionally managed? It is fine to have a great idea, a great extraction process, a great delivery mechanism, but if the company does not have the capital and strategic expertise to keep the launch profitable, it won’t matter how good the product is…that is the reality.
Having the capitalization to have proof of concept, meet production and demand needs, marketing, and outlast the less well-managed competition is crucial.
Using these criteria, you can eliminate many of the less-reputable CBD providers, check off companies without a commitment to excellence, but also critically compare those few companies that can be considered the apex manufacturers in the CBD oil space. Don’t be confused by all the noise! Be Well!
