🌿Now is the season to hit up your local flower stand for all the local and might I add, FRESH, blooms!

Dahlias, Lisianthus, sunflowers, zinnias and more are showing off. So skip the grocery store bouquets(who knows when those were harvested 😬🙃) and make a quick pit stop at that super cute farmstand that you know an individual has worked so hard to put together and support local, small flower growers in their prime season ♥️

Everything is really starting to show its colour on the farm! Dahlias, Lisianthus & Zinnias are putting on a show and we’re here for it!

Our dahlia patch is bigger than ever this year(still not huge but it will reap a solid harvest for our needs). We’ve been patient the past couple years and only purchased minimal tubers which results in a minimal harvest. But with splitting tubers and adding in a few new varieties each year we have a sizeable patch that we are hoping to be able to offer Dahlia bouquets at the stand this year which is so exciting! We love offering more variety for our straight bunches to give our customers options!

Well hello beautiful greenery! Featuring a less than stellar air quality - you know it’s bad when you can see it 😬 (read: that’s smoke - not fog)

But that’s not why we’re here. What is this greenery, you ask? Meet Baptisia.

It flowers, but it also doubles as beautiful greenery. We’re still getting to know her, but just look at how gorgeous she is!

We’ve always found it hard to grow good greenery on the farm, and I think most florists and flower growers know just how essential it is. We’re so happy to finally harvest it and can’t wait to watch our patch mature.

Oop you caught me dusting off the stand after a few weeks off. Fresh bouquets now available at our stand and for the rest of the season.

We’re still waiting on our flowers in the field to bloom, but in the meantime we’ve brought in some beauties from other local growers. We hope you’ll stop by and check it out!

A haiku for ranunculus season:

You almost broke me
My favourite forever
Next year we do more

As you can see there’s a lot of mixed emotions around ranunculus season 😅 the past six weeks have been nothing short of a blessing. Some of you may know we were accepted as a guest grower at OFG and it surpassed our expectations. We had our busiest spring to date and while I may have threatened once or twice to burn the greenhouse down 😅(good thing for a calm, cool & collected husband to keep my eyes on the finish line) we did it and it feels so good. And I’m talking about how much can we handle for next year - so it couldn’t have been that bad, right?

The plans for 2027 are already underway. How to be more efficient, looking into more outlets for our flowers, and what we have to let go of to make our business run more smoothly.

In the meantime, enjoy the ranunculus while they’re still here as it won’t be long before we say farewell.
