These new arrivals are pretty hard to beat but the freshly baked double chocolate cake in the Old Mare Canteen might just do it! In addition to cake, this weekend the canteen has a variety of cookies, cranberry orange scones, and Ted Lasso biscuits.

The Abridged (and Protracted) Field Notes of the Adventures Across Barmy Britain of Dugald Bovinus III, Esq. by Currie Russell, and illustrated by Gustyawan

Dugald Bovinus III, Esq. is a gentleman cow (in tweed) (and wearing a monocle on occasion) who is an avid traveller and meticulous recorder of events that do not strictly require recording.

This first book, compiling his field notes, documents his progress across Britain, during which he encounters questionable infrastructure, excessive baked goods, and an alarming number of footnotes.

Format: Illustrated hardcover,
Audience: Older children and adults

We hope you’ll join us for a special afternoon that somewhat resembles a British fête (with most of the bunting and some of the pastry crumbs.) Copies of the First (Very Limited) Edition book, stickers and buttons will be available for sale. Wear your fascinator or flat cap and bring galoshes in case of rain.
