Turn your sad fall mums into stunning holiday porch pots!

Here is a holiday decorating tip you might not know.

If your fall mums are in plastic pots that are 10 inches or larger, do not throw them out! They are perfect for reusing as the base for your holiday or winter porch pots.

Once your fall mums are done blooming, simply cut them back to the soil level. Leave the soil and roots in place, but remove any leftover leaves or stems.

No fall mums? No problem! You can do the same process with your summer planters or inserts.

You may be asking yourself, why should I bother doing this? Well, when you add fresh winter greens into soil with existing roots, it creates a sturdier, longer-lasting porch pot.

And if you are ordering a custom-designed porch pot from Vermeer’s, bringing in your own plastic pots or inserts with soil and roots helps us create a better design. Plus, doing so saves you the cost of new inserts.

So, before you clean up for the season, save those plastic pots, keep the soil and roots, and repurpose them for beautiful holiday or winter porch décor!

Switch things up with an untraditional colour palette for fall! 💐

These two unique bouquets prove that fall florals do not always need red and orange to capture the warmth and magic of the season.

‘Autumn Gold’ ($70) is fresh and airy with its crisp white and green flowers accented with a touch of yellow.

‘Toasted Thistle’ ($65) is cozy and moody with rich caramel and peach tones paired with striking blues.

Which bouquet is your favourite?
