Bylands Garden Centre has been locally owned and operated for over 60 years in the Okanagan Valley. Visit Bylands in West Kelowna year-round and Bylands K.L.O.

Open year-round, Bylands is considered a destination garden centre in the BC Okanagan. We offer a full range of garden products and accessories and one of the most diverse and complete mixes of hardy plants available in any garden store. Most of the plants sold at the garden centre are grown by our own nursery. This is a significant advantage, as the plants are acclimatized for the area and the fo

otprint to grow these plants has less impact on our environment. Bylands sells more than just plants and garden products; we have a full service florist on staff to create custom arrangements and bouquets for all occasions. In addition, we carry a great selection of home décor, for both indoor and outdoor living. Bylands belongs to Nurseryland Buying Group and this allows us to purchase hard goods at a maximum discount so that we can pass savings on to our customer. Nurseryland products are Canadian made. Bylands Garden operates from a 4 acre retail area with 20,000 square feet of covered space. Our Garden Centre is surrounded by Bylands Nursery where it grows plants on 400 acres of prime agricultural land in West Kelowna. Bylands Garden Centre is a leading retailer that is committed to progressive growing methods. Our professional, educated staff ensures the best service and possesses a wealth of knowledge of the premium quality products we carry.

We think this tree is totally underrated!

The Dropmore Linden is a versatile tree that thrive in a wide variety of conditions. They adapt to poor soil, are tolerant of urban pollution, and are hardy to cold Canadian winters. Popular with beekeepers, Dropmores produce small, lightly scented flowers and lots of nectar that attract pollinators, such as honeybees. The honey produced has a unique mint-like taste. Lastly, these tall trees have a tidy, dense canopy that provides much-needed shade to homes and yards.

Inconsistent moisture + high temperatures + calcium imbalance = Blossom End Rot

Blossom end rot causes dark, sunken patches on the bottom of tomatoes and other fruiting vegetables. The good news? It’s not a disease, it’s usually caused by a lack of calcium reaching the developing fruit, often due to inconsistent watering.

To help prevent it:
✓ Remove affected fruit, they won’t recover
✓ Water consistently
✓ Feed with a tomato fertiliser containing calcium
✓ Mulch to keep soil moisture even
✓ Maintain healthy soil pH and calcium levels
