Throughout the three-day Nautical Days celebration at Comox Marina Park over the long weekend, I had the joy of sharing these three colouring sheets with some of the wonderful young visitors to the Comox Valley event.

It was so lovely to receive such positive feedback and to see my work spark curiosity and creativity in little creative minds. I wanted to offer something that encouraged children to slow down, explore their imaginations, and simply enjoy the process of creating.

Creativity begins with a little bit of curiosity, and it was wonderful to be able to share in that with the next generation of artists. ❤️

The ‘Flourish’ exhibition at Pearl Ellis Gallery is on until June 20th, and I’m delighted to have two pieces currently on display and available for purchase.

Green Floral Vase is a ceramic slab-built and incised piece, while Nature’s Bounty is a mixed-media painting. Both works are inspired by the remarkable beauty of living things — how they thrive, transform, and continually evolve.
Nature’s Bounty holds a particularly personal element, as my 30-month-old son helped create the background of the painting. This collaboration became an opportunity for him to explore materials through making, and it felt meaningful to include his hand in the process. As he grows and develops his understanding of the world, he is also discovering, evolving, and responding to the beauty that surrounds him - he too is flourishing.
The painting became not only a reflection of nature’s abundance, but also of growth itself — the quiet unfolding of creativity, connection, and learning.

This mixed-media work is a celebration of nature’s abundance - an ode to growth, renewal, and the beauty of life unfolding. It reflects a season of flourishing, a moment to pause, reflect, and embrace new beginnings.
