Right around the corner from our little shop, nestled between some other rad local businesses, you’ll find Burnt Toast Cafe 🫶🏼 Their menu is loaded - and we mean loaded - with tasty goodness for breakfast & lunch that will have you stuffed and so happy. A few of our faves? Banana brioche french toast, baron of beef with fries, the cowboy scramble, and of course the Alaskan salmon burger with a side of their daily soup!

If you’ve spent any time over in Alaska this summer, you may have an abundance of shrimp hanging around in your freezer. Let us help with that! It’s not too late to fire up the BBQ and soak up a little of the last of Yukon summer with these 3 grilled shrimp skewer recipes!

Pro tip: if you’re using wooden skewers, soak them for 20-30 minutes in water so they don’t burn on the grill! Don’t want to do the extra prep? Use metal skewers! 🍤🔥🍤🔥🍤

Who remembers Classified? This Canadian rapper even came to Whitehorse & played a show back in - oh god, don’t quiz us on years. Anyways, his song Hangover featuring Jim Cuddy is one our top faves from his album Hand Shakes and Middle Fingers. Jim Cuddy’s rough yet gentle and deep intro is thought provoking and emotional, transitioning into Classified’s easy listening smooth rap talking about the darker side of substance.
