Are you a beginner knitter who knows how to knit and purl looking for a big of guidance to take your knitting to the next level? Why not join our Hat Knitting Class with Nicole! This class will help you develop skills like casting on, ribbing, decreasing stitches for shaping and knitting in the round.

For this class, you should be comfortable with basic knit and purl stitches.

Cascade 220 has been a favourite workhorse yarn every since we first brought it in. And no wonder! With it's range of colours, soft feel, and gorgeous hand, it's a wonderful option for nearly any project you can think of!

As the weather cools and the trees change colours, I'm craving a sweater cast on with this yarn. There's so many options out there, but my eye keeps going to designs by Sari Nordlund, a Finnish knitwear designer, who might just be an expert at texture. I encourage you to go check out her designs. I've included some of my favourites here, including some really stunning accessories that would make for some lovely gifts (just sayin').

I like to have some sort of charity knitting on my needles. Mittens are a high demand item, especially for adults, so when my fingers itched for a quick project, I grabbed some bulky yarn and Tin Can Knits World's Simplest Mittens pattern to cast on their largest sized mittens.

I know that one ball of the Estelle Chunky isn't quite enough to make these mittens, so I dug out some scraps of this yarn from my stash and striped the palm using helical knitting.

I love this pattern, especially the bulky version. Even the largest size doesn't take long at all to finish, so it makes for a quick and satisfying project. And since the mittens are so simple, it can be great for stash busting in so many fun ways! Makes for a lot of customization for gift making, too.

Well, she's almost done the pair, and I love how this cute little ankle sock came out! I'll bet they'll be really warm, and between the fine yarn and the stitch type, I'll bet they're quite comfortable, too.

We have a few spots left in a couple of workshops coming up later this month! Both the colourwork knitting workshop and the thrummed mitten workshop are being taught by Sarah Dominie, and both will teach you some great tips and tricks for new knitting skills!

Neither of these classes are beginner classes, so keep an eye on the requirements for the classes! Registration can be done on our website under "events".
