New sign in the little garden outside my store...
Update: The little garden outside my shop had been rapidly deteriorating over the last few years. I asked a number of people/businesses/organizations (whom I thought might be responsible) who exactly was in charge of the upkeep of the garden, and they all said it wasn't them, and suggested one of the other people/businesses/organizations to whom I was already asking the same questions! So we (my husband and I) decided to take matters into our own hands and update the garden ourselves. We...mostly my husband, Cap'n Dan...weeded, trimmed (that poor tree was dead on one side!), bought new plants, planted, mulched, and made the garden look sooo much better. David's family was in the process of closing his store after his passing, so we asked if they'd like to put a plaque in his honour in the garden. David's family provided the plaque, and Cap'n Dan finally had a moment to install it with proper cement footings. As Manager of the Avonian Place building, David was the glue that kept this place together, and I (for one) miss him and his ability to (symbolically, of course) whip us all into shape...tenants and parking violators alike (don't get me started on the parking violators!).
Rest in Peace, David.
