The Literacy Loft The Literacy Loft uses the Orton Gillingham method to work with people of all ages who have reading challenges. SERVICES ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

The Literacy Loft specializes in assisting people with varying levels of abilities to learn or improve their skills in reading, writing, spelling and comprehension. We also teach individualized learning strategies and assistive technology. We use the Orton Gillingham approach to literacy. It's a direct, language- based approach to learning which is multi-sensory, structured and flexible. It employ

s visual, auditory and tactile (touch) techniques to improve memory, retention and recall. With direct instruction, the person masters each new desired skill and, perhaps, more importantly, understands they have mastered these skills. This realization helps boost self-esteem and self-confidence.

Did you know, I also work with adults who struggle with reading, because reading challenges do not disappear with age. Many adults have gone years feeling frustrated, embarrassed, or unsure of where to turn for help.

The Orton-Gillingham method is not just for children. It is a structured, step-by-step approach that can support learners of all ages, including adults who want to improve their reading, spelling, and confidence.
