🚨EARTH OVERSHOOT DAY: JULY 24, 2025🚨
With 162 days left in 2025, humans have already used up all the resources that Earth can regenerate this year. Those resources include water, oil, clean air, etc. 💧💨
We would need 1.8 Earths to sustain our current consumption.
This date has gotten progressively earlier in the year over the last ~50 years. If the whole world lived like we do in Canada, Earth Overshoot Day would have been way back on March 26th! See charts above.
A few simple ways we can all do our part to help :
• Carpooling, using transit, biking, and travelling with little-to-no emissions.
• Producing less food waste, and composting.
• Using what we already have and avoiding overconsumption.
• Holding leaders accountable.
• Eating more plant-based meals.
• Avoiding single-use plastics.
