That’s right, everyone! It’s Big Sky’s annual END-of-SUMMER sale this weekend! We are open Saturday AND Sunday!

You’ll find:

Cara Cara Kasdorf & Team, Running Dietitians did a double header with us this week, and administered sweat testing for 24 runners last night!

It is a cool process! Runners are affixed with a patch on their forearms or forehead, then they go for a run and get nice and sweaty. When they return, those patches are put into syringes and Cara actually SQUEEZES out the sweat from the syringe into her trusty machine which gives a reading of the salinity of the sweat, which is a stable number (ie if you’re a salty sweater today, you always have been and always will be).

Leftover sweat is poured into those cups on the table. We had to empty them a few times over the course of the evening 🙃 And don’t worry, we washed them reeeeally well before we returned them to gen pop.

Runners are also weighed before and after the run to get a sense of how much they sweat. So between that and the amount of sodium in their sweat, they are given a new metric to help inform their fuelling strategy going forward.

We are so grateful that Cara of Cara Kasdorf & Team, Running Dietitians joined our Project-99 workout yesterday and then returned to the shop to do a nutrition presentation designed specifically for our group.

Recognizing the key role that nutrition plays in our training and performance, we want to thank you Cara for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us!

Cara is a longtime friend of the shop, and her sister, Julia is one of our Project-99 participants.

Once again, a feel-good evening with the P-99 women!
