This is a distressed farmhouse “possum belly” baker’s table with enamel top. Circa early 1900’s.
These tables are rare to find and sell for thousands in antique stores and online.
Frame is distressed to show the multiple layers of paint that this table has had in its long history.
The possum belly drawers are made thin layers of wood, and may not be able to hold much weight.
Enamel top has some watermarks (see last picture)

I’ve decided to visit as many thrift stores that I can in this amazing city and province!
Winnipeg has so many great small local thrift stores that aren’t part of a chain (I’m looking at you Value Village)
Today we are at the Canadian Goodwill Ind. at 70 Princess Street.
This is part of 2 of this thrift store, because it is so great, one reel just doesn’t cut it! My last reel features the upstairs, where you can find their housewares, decor, art and furniture pieces.
This reel is all about their main level. All clothing and footwear is located here, and I’m always impressed with their kids wear selection.
Book enthusiasts MUST visit this store, because it honestly has the largest selection I’ve ever seen in a thrift store.
The store is open Monday to Friday from 9:30-4:30 and Saturday from 10:00-4:30.
Please follow along as I thrift my way through the city, and eventually the province!
