Today HeartKids would like to acknowledge and thank all of the incredible first responders who rush in to help during life's most challenging moments.

Many of our families have had to make an urgent call to emergency services, and we're deeply grateful for the care, expertise and support these dedicated professionals provide to our heart babies and their families across Australia.

To the paramedics, emergency responders, and frontline teams — your courage, compassion and dedication is invaluable.

Thank you for being the incredible humans that you are 💙✨

It was our third year volunteering and always a great time!🤎

Hey Heart Families! ❤️

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to complete our survey. We heard you loud and clear — you want more connection!

We do our best to offer events throughout the year, but time, funding, and volunteer availability can impact how often we’re able to host them. One idea we’re exploring for the fall is virtual coffee nights, which would allow families from across Manitoba to connect from the comfort of home.

With the events we do host, the best opportunity to meet and connect with other heart families is by attending these gatherings. We understand that walking into a new environment can feel overwhelming. If you need a little extra support to attend an event, please reach out beforehand — we’re happy to help.

Did you know that if you contact your cardiac nurse, our amazing social worker Erica, or even email Circle of Hearts, we can help connect you with another family on a similar journey? Due to PHIA regulations, we do not have access to family information directly, but we can work with the Heart Centre team to help facilitate connections.

Peer support can be incredibly valuable. Sometimes the most meaningful conversations happen with someone who truly understands the challenges, fears, milestones, and victories that come with a heart diagnosis.

We know how isolating a CHD diagnosis and lifelong heart journey can feel. Our goal is to support every family in whatever way we can.

Our next event is Family and Youth Summer Camp, which is truly one of the best opportunities to build friendships, create connections, and make lasting memories with other heart families.

As always, our email inbox and DMs are open. Our private Facebook group is also a safe and supportive space where you can ask questions, share experiences, seek support, or connect with others who understand the journey.

You’re never alone in this community. ❤️
