Back to school is such a BIG day. ❤️📚

School can be scary. New classrooms, new teachers, new routines, new friendships and so many emotions all wrapped into one day. Our children are so much braver than we sometimes realize.

As they head into a new school year, remind them to be kind, there may be another child walking through those doors feeling nervous, scared or unsure too. Remind them to include others, to have courage, to be themselves and to know that they are capable of doing hard things. ❤️

And hug them a little tighter. 🥹 These years go by far too quickly.

Wishing every child heading back to school a first day filled with bravery, confidence, kindness and excitement, and wishing all the parents a little courage too as we adjust to new schedules and routines.

Our hearts are so full seeing all of the beautiful first-day photos today. 🥰📚✏️

Here’s to a wonderful new school year! ❤️

💙🌟 SHOW SOME LOVE FOR TRISH! 🌟💙

It’s time to shine the spotlight on one of our Winnipeg AC team members! If you’ve called, emailed, placed an order or shipped with us, there’s a good chance Trish has helped make something happen behind the scenes. 🙌

Trish has been part of the Arctic Connection team for 2 years, but her connection to AC goes back much further than that. For Trish, when we say AC is family, we mean it quite literally. 💙

Trish is Jim Ramsay’s first cousin her dad and Jim’s mom were siblings so the Ramsay family has been part of her story long before Arctic Connection became her workplace.

Now let’s get to know Trish a little better! 👇💙

Over the past two years, Trish has brought that same sense of family into the way she works always willing to help, learn something new, step in wherever she’s needed, and make sure our customers are taken care of.

There really isn't a “typical” day for her. She can go from processing waybills and invoices and helping customers in the office, to working in the warehouse, shopping for our stores and customer orders, coordinating with staff, and helping solve whatever needs solving that day.

And that's actually what Trish loves about her job **the variety.**

She's discovered a real passion for the office side of AC and takes a lot of pride in how much she's learned. What customers don't always see is just how much communication and coordination happens behind the scenes to get an order or shipment from Point A to Point B. Trish has worked hard to understand more pieces of that puzzle and become someone both our staff and customers can rely on.

One of the highlights of her time with AC happened recently when she travelled to **Rankin Inlet for the very first time.** ✈️💙

After helping customers from Winnipeg for two years, she finally had the chance to experience the North herself meeting customers face-to-face, seeing the community and getting a firsthand look at the other end of so much of the work she does.

It gave a whole new meaning to the names, orders, waybills and shipments she works with every day.

But to really know Trish, you have to know her family. ❤️

She became a mom at a young age, and when you ask her what she's most proud of, **her family comes first.**

She's mom to **Sky, 28, Tyler, 22, Marisol, 16, and Marcos, 12** and grandma to **Emmery, 10, and twins Bella & Bryson, 5.**

Watching her kids grow, cheering them on in their sports, spending time with her grandkids, and simply being surrounded by family and friends are some of the things that make her happiest.

Trish's story is also one of **love, loss, strength and continuing to move forward.**

She lost her mom to cancer **10 years ago** and her dad in a tragic accident **3 years ago**. Their absence is something she carries with her every day, but so are the lessons they taught her, the strength they gave her and the love they left behind.

In Trish's own words:

**“They continue to inspire the person I'm becoming.”** ❤️

And we think that says a lot about who Trish is.

She's someone who values family deeply. She's loyal. She's dependable. She works hard. She wants to keep learning. And if someone needs help, she's usually willing to jump in.

Then there's **FOOTBALL.** 🏈😂

Calling Trish a football fan might actually be an understatement.

She's a huge **Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan and season-ticket holder**, has served on the board of her local football club, and has spent countless hours supporting the sport, the kids who play it and the community surrounding it.

She's also incredibly proud of her husband, **Abel Gutierrez**, and is one of his biggest supporters as he runs for **City Councillor in Elmwood–East Kildonan**.

While Abel campaigns, Trish isn't sitting on the sidelines. She's out **door knocking, putting up requested lawn signs, meeting residents and supporting him every step of the way.** It's another example of something that's very Trish when someone she loves has a goal or dream, she shows up. ❤️

When we asked Trish who inspires her, she immediately talked about her husband and his hustle, dedication and drive for his career and family. She also spoke about her cousins and the work that has gone into building Arctic Connection the challenges they've pushed through, their dedication to their customers and staff, and everything they still want to accomplish.

And that's part of why working at AC means so much to her.

She's not just watching her family build something they're passionate about anymore **she gets to be part of it.**

She's proud of becoming closer to her family through AC and knowing that the work she does helps contribute to their dream.

Ironically, for someone with this much of a story, Trish told us:

**“I don't know… I'm not really a fan of talking about myself.”** 😂❤️

So we'll happily do a little of it for her.

Her three words were **helpful, reliable and kind**, and we'd say those fit her pretty well.

She's the person grabbing a granola bar, fruit and water on a crazy day and getting back at it. She's someone who tries to stay organized, tackle one thing at a time and remind herself that the crazy busy seasons don't last forever. She's always looking to learn another skill or find a better way of doing something.

Most importantly, she cares about her family, her coworkers and the customers she's helping.

When we asked Trish what makes Arctic Connection different, her answer came back to something that has always been important to us:

**It's the commitment to helping each customer with what they need and treating them more like close friends and family than simply customers.**

And when we asked what AC means to her, she summed it up perfectly:

**“It's more than a workplace. It's a team that supports one another and works together toward common goals.”**

For Trish, those words carry a little extra meaning because this workplace brought two parts of her life together **family and purpose.**

From becoming a young mom and building a family she's incredibly proud of, to navigating some of life's hardest losses, supporting her husband and community, and now challenging herself to keep learning and growing at AC there's a lot behind the woman you see answering emails, processing waybills or jumping into the warehouse to help.

We're proud that she's part of our story, and even happier that AC has become part of hers.

💙 **Thank you for everything you do, Trish. We're lucky to have you as family and as part of our team.**

💙 Happy Saturday from Linda & all of us at Arctic Connection💙

If Linda's smile doesn't make you smile, we don't know what will. 😊

Our dear friend Linda, one of the kindest, most genuine, and selfless people you'll ever meet, wanted to come in today and volunteer her time just to spread smiles. She never expected anything in return, she simply wanted to make someone else's day a little brighter. That's who she is. 💙

Linda reminds us that the greatest gifts in life don't cost a thing. A smile. A hug. A kind word. A listening ear. She has a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved just by being herself.

She is so loved by our family and by so many people in our community. Three years ago, she lost her husband, Joe. Yet she continues to show up with kindness, love, and a smile. Grief is heavy. Life is heavy. So many people are carrying things we can't see.

Today, Linda has filled our hearts more than she probably even realizes, and we want every one of you to feel that same love.

❤️ So here's our challenge to you...

Don't think about it. Don't scroll past. Don't tell yourself you'll do it later. Do it RIGHT NOW. RIGHT NOW!!!

📱 Text someone.
☎️ Call someone.

The very first person who comes to your mind. 5...4..3..2..1....

Tell them:
💙 "I love you."
💙 "I'm thinking about you."
💙 "I'm proud of you."

No special reason. Just because.

One message.
One phone call.
One hug.
One smile.

It could be exactly what someone needs today.

Kindness doesn't just change the person receiving it, it changes you, too. Love creates a ripple effect. One act of kindness inspires another. Before you know it, you've made someone's day a little brighter, and they've done the same for someone else.

Let's go all in today.

❤️ Spread love.
🤍 Spread kindness.
😊 Spread smiles.

You never know whose life you might brighten... or whose life they might brighten because of you.

Tag someone you love in the comments and let them know you're thinking about them or even comment with a

There are a lot of days throughout the year, but today will always be one of our favorites. Happy Nunavut Day.💙💛

I still remember being 10 years old, living in Rankin Inlet, when Nunavut officially became a territory. At the time, I didn't fully understand how historic that moment was. Looking back now, I realize I was witnessing the beginning of something incredibly special. That memory has stayed with me my entire life.

Over the years, Nunavut has become so much more than a territory to us. It is home. It is a place filled with strength, resilience, culture, traditions, laughter, and some of the kindest, most genuine people we have ever known. The North has a way of changing your heart, and once it does, it never lets go.

Our family is incredibly grateful that Arctic Connection has been welcomed into so many communities across Nunavut. Every friendship we've made, every customer who has trusted us, every Elder we've learned from, and every community we've had the privilege of serving has shaped who we are. We are thankful every single day.

Today was especially meaningful. Spending Nunavut Day with those who are in Winnipeg and away from home. As a family, we were honoured to host a BBQ at the Larga. With yummy food & yummy treats. Thank you to AJ C. who made sure we were able to setup and do this.

Watching everyone come together, seeing the smiles and celebrating such a special day reminded us what Nunavut is really about community. We hope that, even for a few hours, everyone who joined us felt a little closer to home.

To everyone across Nunavut, and to everyone celebrating away from home today, thank you for welcoming us into your communities and into your lives. It is a privilege we will never take for granted.

Happy Nunavut Day. Today we celebrate your history, your culture, your future, and, most importantly, the incredible people who make Nunavut such a special place.

From our family to yours ❤️
