👽 Ever wonder what it took to bring the Predators of Predator 2 to life? 👽

Here’s a fantastic behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Predator suits for the 1990 sequel, from the Stan Winston School of Character Arts.

The film expanded the Predator mythology beyond the original creature, introducing the group of hunters seen aboard the Predator ship and giving Stan Winston’s team the challenge of creating multiple distinct Predators.

For fans of practical effects, creature design and old-school movie magic, this is well worth a read. There’s something special about seeing how much physical craftsmanship went into creating creatures that still look incredible decades later.

🕊️ “If you’re going to be a hero, be a real hero. Be strong enough to be gentle.” 🕊️

The world of pop culture has lost one of its most unmistakable voices with the passing of Peter Cullen at the age of 85.

For more than 40 years, Cullen was the voice of Optimus Prime, giving the leader of the Autobots a sense of strength, compassion and honour that helped make the character an icon to generations of Transformers fans.

That voice was inspired by advice Cullen received from his older brother Larry before his original Transformers audition: if you are going to play a hero, make him a real hero. Be strong enough to be gentle. Cullen carried those words into Optimus Prime, and they became part of the character’s soul.

His remarkable career also included Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh, KARR in Knight Rider, and the unforgettable vocal effects of the Predator.

For those of us who grew up with Transformers, Peter Cullen provided one of the defining voices of our childhoods. It is a voice that will continue to be heard for generations.

Till all are one.

Rest in peace, Peter Cullen. 1941–2026.
