Fall is one of the best times to plant trees and shrubs in Zone 3!

Cooler temperatures mean less transplant stress. Trees and shrubs aren’t dealing with the heat and intense sun of summer.

Cooler soil + more consistent moisture = happier roots. While the tops of the plants are slowing down for winter, the roots can continue establishing in the soil.

Root growth continues after the leaves drop. As long as the ground isn’t frozen, roots are still settling in and getting established.

Come spring, your plants are already home. Instead of spending their first spring recovering from transplanting, fall-planted trees and shrubs can put their energy toward new growth.

Give them a good drink after planting, mulch around the root zone (without piling it against the trunk), and let nature do the rest.

So if you’ve been dreaming about adding a new tree, shrub, or hedge to your landscape, fall is the perfect time to get planting. Enjoy 30% off on all trees and shrubs in our nursery now. See in store for details and inventory.

Meet the legendary Mortgage Lifter tomato! Yes, that’s really its name!

This heirloom variety earned its name in the 1930s when a gardener reportedly sold enough plants to pay off his mortgage. Known for producing massive, meaty fruits with a rich, sweet flavor and few seeds, it’s a favorite for sandwiches, burgers, and fresh summer slicing.

Whether you’re looking for giant heirlooms, sweet cherries, paste tomatoes, or reliable garden classics, we’ve got plenty of tomato varieties to choose from this season.

What’s your perfect tomato variety?

A crowd favourite, these cut flower annuals are a show stopper. Plant zinnias in your gardens to increase pollinators and biodiversity for your yields. Or plant them in pots or landscapes to add height and color. We love them and you will too!
