Who We Are

McNally Robinson is an independent bookseller: family-oriented, committed to the values of community bookselling, and determined to present an alternative to corporate-chain bookstores. Where We Are

Our focus is on Canada, and we work closely with authors and publishers to reach Canadians with their own stories. Moreover, we select all our books, wherever written, to reflect the interests and circumstances of Canadians. What We Are

We firmly believe in a literate society: one in which reading is co-relative with a thoughtful, imaginative and fulfilled life.

New to our nature writing section, Endings is a lyrical, panoramic exploration of extinction as it occurs and reoccurs in natural history, myth, and science 🐅🌎

It's no secret we live in an age of extinction: our daily newsfeeds and disappearing wildlife make that abundantly clear. But what does extinction really mean for humanity? Naturalist and poet Neil Griffin seeks to answer that question.

Written with curiousity, compassion, humour, Endings is in-stock at our Grant Park & Saskatoon locations and available to order online 🐦‍⬛🦧🦣🪼

Coming up October 1st in our Community Classroom! Re-Storytelling Place with Public Art in Winnipeg is a new class with Dr. Honoure Black 🖼️🏙️

Learn the histories of Winnipeg, Treaty One Territory, through Winnipeg’s public art collection. In a two-hour visual lecture, Dr. Honoure Black will present a selection of public artworks that re-tell the histories of place in our city. From stories of Winnipeg’s pre-settler contact era, to the industrial boom and general strike, to decolonial place-based narratives, attendees will learn how site-specific artwork can shape and reshape our city. Discussions of reconciliation and the power of public art and renaming will also be addressed.

New from a bookseller favourite-- Emily St. John Mandel returns with a breathtaking novel of doubles, shadow worlds, and fractured timelines ⛓️‍💥

If you've read Mandel, you know her work is always eerily relevant to the current state of the world. Exit Party is a novel about the price of safety, the perils of the surveillance state, and a breathtaking story of resilience in the face of cataclysmic change.

We're beyond excited to welcome the author to our Winnipeg (Grant Park) location on Saturday, October 17th at 7pm to celebrate & dive deep into her latest work.

Exit Party is in-stock at all locations and available to order online 🌎
