For a while now I have been noticing a trend on the various and numerous book related sites here on Facebook.
There are often requests for recommendations in various genre. I certainly have the time to go ahead and make some recommend am consistently surprised by how many people Don' Remember that many books that meet their request were published more than 5 to 10 years ag It says if the older books all of a sudden cease to exist. I invented by surprise at a lot of my suggestions.
And with younger readers It is as if the older titles just aren't hip or now enough.
Please folks try to remember that our book hobby has a long and rich history that should not be forgotten.
Particularly in regards to books geared towards much younger readers. If your sibling or a child is only just starting out in the reading world then perhaps it is a plan to introduce them to books more geared to their current reading level and then let them advance over tim Many of the current YA titles that are so popular contain vocabulary and story concepts that may be beyond the comprehension of the young reader at their current level. There are a LOT of books and series that would be ideal for getting the younger readers accustomed to reading, and will gradually introduce more complex/advanced terms a.d concepts as you go along.
I'm not going to claim that my word is law. But I do have an an established history of reading and many different genres and age groups and I might have some helpful tid bits good place to offer if anyone wants to contact me.
Since I am quarantined at home need you to medical issues, I have a fair bit of time on my hand and I may as well put it to use
