Though our storefront is closed, we are continuing to do our education and outreach work.

Last week we were down at HMCS Acadia (CFB Cornwallis) teaching cadets and leaders from all over Canada about gender, s*xuality, and mental health.

We were thrilled that this organization has acknowledged some of its flaws and the demands of its members when it comes to q***r education, and is working on change.

At a national level, the cadets already have some fantastic policies to help non-cis and non-het cadets along. The challenge now is just training for leaders and resource distribution.

We're especially proud of the CTC folxs here in rural NS for setting up the first (and currently only) officially approved GSA for youth on a Canadian military installation.

It’s been a blast friends

We feel blessed to have had a chance to help so many and provide so much, even if it was for only a year

Not going to let closure keep us down though; as a wise knight once said “tis only a flesh wound”. We’re going to try and continue to bring education and resources to the Valley, we just need a hot minute to regroup

In the meantime please continue to follow our social media and page for local resources and information about the future of Valley Vixen

We have some sad news to announce today

Valley Vixen is closing its doors

Despite a successful and well received first year, we were not able to come to an agreement with our bank for our second year. Rather than continue on financially unstable ground we’re choosing to bow out, regroup, and recreate.

Saturday, June 16th will be our last day open.

The coming weeks will be full of massive sales. This is an everything must go situation: toys, books, furniture, displays, and office equipment. Stay posted for a more detailed schedule of sales.

We are tremendously thankful for the opportunity to operate a business like this in rural NS and can’t thank enough the town of Wolfville, and the community here in the Valley for your strong support.

Our storefront is closing, but Valley Vixen as a resource for education is not. Please continue to follow our social media, page, and newsletter to keep up to date with what we’re doing and for information about additional local resources. May 17th is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. Every year the town of Wolfville flies the Pride flag and holds a ceremony to bring awareness to these issue and pledge to fight against them. We at Valley Vixen are proud to be in a town that commits to supporting its LGBTQ+ citizens, and for yielding spaces for our voices and our needs 🏳️‍🌈
