In 1959, John Horlings at the age of seven with his family docked at PIER 21 Halifax aboard the Groote Beer from Holland. The family continued by train to Ontario where John grew up in the family grocery and greenhouse business. After marrying, he and Liz made the decision to come back to Nova Scotia. With the help of their five children in 1991, John and Liz established a retail plant business pr

incipally selling at the Halifax Farmer’s Market. Now customers can shop at their growing site in the beautiful Gaspereau Valley. Their inventory includes hardy and hard to find field grown perennials, a numerous variety of potted annuals for planters and window boxes plus one of a kind moss baskets.
