*WOODSTOCK*

Beginning October 6, 2026, businesses and residents in downtown City of Woodstock, Ontario will receive twice-weekly garbage and green bin (organics) collection every Tuesday and Friday, with adjustments for statutory holidays. A new collection zone in Woodstock, Zone 5a, has been added for the downtown corridor.

This change applies only to the Dundas Street corridor and laneways between Vansittart Avenue and Wilson Street.

A drop-in information meeting for downtown businesses and residents is being held Thursday, October 1 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., with a presentation at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is at the Oxford County Administration Building at 21 Reeve Street.

There are no changes to blue box recycling for business, collected once a week on Tuesday, or residential recycling, which is collected every six business days under the regular Zone 5 schedule.

The new collection schedule is an interim change in effect to December 31, 2026, until a permanent schedule and budget funding is confirmed by Oxford County and City of Woodstock Councils.

This is not a sob story post, it’s a promise to get back to doing more!

Since the Spring, we’ve had a lot going on within the shop and our personal lives, and while we’ve shown up every day to complete orders, greet customers, spend time with our ā€œregularsā€ and catch up on their lives, and enjoy the fun of larger events outside of the shop – something’s been missing.

Our online presence has been non-existent, pausing and reassessing our products hasn’t been a top priority, and offering more community events has fallen by the wayside.

We’ve decided to set some goals, and shake off what hasn’t been working!

Goal #1
Get back to socials, let you, our popperific customers know what’s going on behind the scenes, on the shelves, and in the kitchen šŸ‘©šŸ»ā€šŸ³

Goal #2
Bring back the homemade items you all loved before! Beginning next week, we’ll have some old favourites hitting the shelves – make sure to check back in to see what the first few experiments produce! šŸ

Goal #3
Get more vendors into the space to offer more choices to customers, and more exposure for small businesses in the community! Take a community approach to events in the store again, which provide accessibility to families, teens, and anyone who likes to have a little fun šŸæ

Now it’s your turn, let us know in the comments what goals you’re working on! We always love a little inspiration, and you never know who you might help too šŸ’•

Thanks friends,
Mandy and Maria

Hi All, and Happy Saturday!

First, we want to express our thanks to those of you who have reached out in the last 24 hours to check in and make sure that we are okay over here at Reel Treats. We love our downtown neighbours, our customers, and all of you who follow along to see what we’re up to.

So yes, you definitely saw our building up for lease – and then you thought the worst! Eek, don’t do that lol!

No, Reel Treats is absolutely NOT closing, we are however looking forward to where the future will take us in downtown Woodstock.

And no, Tater's Sandwiches is NOT closing either!

We’re all here, for our regular hours at 495 Dundas St. and we’ll be sure to keep you all in the loop as our journey unfolds.

For our sanity, we will not be commenting on posts elsewhere on social media platforms, and you should only come to our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates, news and information going forward. If you don’t read it here, and if you don’t get your information expressly through myself (Mandy) or Maria then you don’t have the facts.

Keep on poppin’ in the free world folks! šŸæ

Love,

Mandy and Maria
