Tonight I welcome Claycation #30.

Thirty groups.
Women from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia.
Hundreds of pieces of pottery.
Countless conversations around the table.

What began as an idea has become a community.

This evening another group will arrive, settle into the attic, create in the schoolhouse, gather around the table, and spend the weekend creating with clay.

I never take that trust for granted.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the first 30 Claycations. 💛

And as I prepare for this weekend, I’m already looking ahead to June 26–28, where a couple spaces are still available.

The question I always ask is:

Which Claycation number will be yours?

I love when I get to see the shout outs on social media! Thanks Keith Jorgenson

Imagine showing up to this table 💛

A few days away from the noise.
Good food.
Clay in your hands.
Conversations that stretch long after supper.

No pressure to perform.
No expectation to be “good” at pottery.

Just space to create, rest, and reconnect.

June Claycation is coming soon, and there are still a couple spaces open around this table.

Eight months ago today, I was in a car accident that changed the rhythm of my life in ways I’m still learning to navigate.

There are days I feel frustrated by the pain, the slower pace, and how much harder physical work can feel now.

But this morning I’m back in the studio throwing pottery.
The highway shop shelves are nearly finished.
The kiln is full.
And slowly, piece by piece, life keeps moving forward.

I think sometimes we imagine creativity comes from moments when everything feels easy and inspired.

But often it’s built in the middle of healing.
In the showing up.
In choosing to keep making anyway.

So today I’m grateful for clay, for community, and for this little prairie life that continues to grow around me

The little highway pottery shop is in the middle of a transformation 💛

Over the past few days, dad and I have been rebuilding the shelving and reimagining the space as I prepare for the next chapter—becoming an ÉCONOMUSÉE artisan site.

This shop started with a simple honour-system idea beside Highway 16… and somehow people from all over have found their way here.

Over the next month, there will be lots of updates happening:
✨ new displays
✨ expanded pottery inventory
✨ storytelling throughout the space
✨ preparations for visitors from near and far

It still amazes me how this tiny prairie shop continues to grow.

And yes… it’s still open 24/7 while I work away around it 😊s

A question I get often is:

“Do I need pottery experience to come to Claycation?”

Not at all 💛

Most people arrive nervous about the clay for about… ten minutes.

Then the conversations begin.
The laughter starts.
Hands get dirty.
And something shifts.

Claycation was never really built around being “good” at pottery.

It was built around giving people space to breathe, create, rest, and reconnect.

If you’ve been quietly following along wondering if this could be for you… this is your sign that yes, it could.

✨ June still has a few spaces open.

What started as a little pottery shop on the prairie has now welcomed over 1,000 people to my website this month alone 💛

Some are discovering the honour-system shop for the first time.
Some are finding Claycation.
Some are quietly realizing they might need a few days away, too.

And honestly… I’m just grateful you’re here.

This place was built slowly.
By hand.
One pot, one conversation, one brave yes at a time.

If you’ve been following along quietly, this is your reminder that you’re always welcome here.

✨ June Claycation still has a few spaces open.

If you found me from Saskatchewander… welcome 💛

What you’re seeing is my honour-system pottery shop on the prairie—and behind it is something else I’ve been quietly building.

It’s called Claycation.

A few days away.
Working with clay.
Slowing down.
Connecting.

People have come from across Western Canada to be here.

If you’re curious, you can learn more here:

And if you’re ever driving by… the shop is always open.
