Attention all writers! Have you ever wondered, “Just what the heck qualifies as a memoir and how do I tell my story truthfully when everyone in it is still alive?”
Join acclaimed Newfoundland & Labrador author Donna Morrissey for a Writing Workshop in an engaging, hands-on experience designed to help you uncover the heart of your story and bring it to the page.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Distinguish between book-length memoir, personal essay, and narrative essay
- Decide which form works best for your story
- Identify the central theme or “heart” of your story
- Strengthen that heart to create a more powerful and compelling piece
The workshop fee is $125 + tax, and seating is limited. Please register early to receive optional homework so you can begin thinking about your story before the workshop.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn directly from a highly celebrated storyteller, either for your own memoir or if you are simply curious about the writing process.
Date: Saturday, August 29th
Time: 12pm-4pm
Location: The Bookshop NL, 62 Broadway, Corner Brook
Please email: [email protected] with the subject "Writing Workshop" to register for this event.
