This is truly an iconic piece: a classic long dress with a distinctly 1970’s silhouette designed by Karl Lagerfeld’s during his time as a Creative Director.
The dress is in deep purple colour, it features a sleeveless bodice and a gently cinched waistline that creates a soft, flowing shape.
It’s adorned with delicate and beautiful embroidered detailing, including small symmetrical motifs scattered down the front and more elaborate floral or vine-like embroidery near the hem, adding refined texture and visual interest without overwhelming the minimalist cut. Underneath, the dress is worn over matching trousers, which echo the era’s relaxed layering style and give the ensemble a slightly bohemian yet elegant feel.
The overall look is effortlessly chic, graceful and nostalgic, blending clean lines with artisanal detailing.
You can wear the dress slightly open - creating interesting slits and shapes. It still has its own Martha Boutique original label - a space created by Martha Philipps, an influential fashion retailer who opened her first place in New York in 1932. She was known simply as ‘Martha’ - a key figure in American Haute Couture for decades.
The size is ITA 40-42.
It’s in perfect conditions.
