For this limited edition of our iconic Carry All tote bag, we collaborated with type designer Xiang-Xiang Lee

Edition of 50

Xiang-Xiang Lee: “My idea started from enSoie’s iconic Vichy check pattern.

As a type designer, I wondered how I could translate its visual language into typography. The equal-sized grid naturally led me to monospaced typefaces, with my own monospaced serif typeface as a starting point. Its fixed-width characters create a typographic grid that echoes the woven structure of the Vichy pattern.

I explored how typography could become part of the pattern itself, arranging letters into striped and block-like compositions inspired by enSoie’s textile language.

Rather than using different fabrics on each side, I developed two typographic arrangements based on the same underlying grid.

The brand’s philosophy, “Love Rules Forever,” is subtly embedded within the grid. From a distance, it reads as a pattern; up close, fragments of the words begin to appear.

We met Keza in Geneva, carrying the Academia bag.

enSoie: What’s the easiest situation for you to dress for and the hardest?
Keza: The easiest is everyday life because I naturally gravitate toward clothes that feel comfortable and reflect who I am. The hardest is dressing for formal or professional events. I sometimes struggle to combine a corporate look with my personnal style.

enSoie: How much does the weather or season shape your style?
Keza: The weather changes the fabrics and layers I wear, but not my love of color. Even in winter, I enjoy wearing colorful outfits. They brighten the season and feel true to my personality.

enSoie: What’s your relationship to care: washing, repairing, sharing, gifting?
Keza: I believe caring for clothes is a way of respecting the stories they carry. I try to take good care of the pieces I own and repair them whenever I can, espacially because I have a background in garment making. I also love the idea of clothes and jewelry being passed down through generations. It’s something that has been passed on to me, and I really value the stories and memories these pieces carry.

We meet Thomas in Geneva. He is wearing the Ash skirt.

enSoie: Were you trying to fit in or stand out as a teenager?
Thomas: I was trying to stand out as a way to escape. Style was a small passport to elsewhere.

enSoie: Who were your early style icons?
Thomas: Robert Smith, Vautrin (Balzac’s criminal daddy), the Totally Spies, and some random guys hanging out at the skatepark.

enSoie: What would you like to explore next in your style?
Thomas: Toxic green, office-plant green, frog green. I want to become Kermit by next summer.

enSoie: What’s the “signature” object in your home?
Thomas: A small black painting by Nicolas Jasmin that says, almost invisibly, “I like it when you don’t like it.”
