How to Test Every Glass Insulator Before Shipment ?
Every toughened glass insulator is subjected to a 100% Half-Load Tensile Test in accordance with IEC 60383 requirements in . During the test, multiple disc insulators are connected into a string and loaded to 50% of the Specified Mechanical Load (SML). The entire string is lifted under controlled tension to verify the mechanical integrity of the glass shell, cap, pin, and cement joint.
