In the early 1970s, the Fengtai Locomotive Depot of Beijing Railway Bureau transitioned from steam locomotives to diesel locomotives.

At the end of 1973, 50 ND4 diesel locomotives arrived in China from France, all of which were assigned to Fengtai Locomotive Depot, which used to be the Jingyuan Line, Jingshan Line, and Fengsha The main line of freight diesel locomotives.

After 1984, Fengtai Locomotive Depot was equipped with ND5 diesel locomotive imported from the United States, and ND4 was put into operation on Jingshan Railway. In the 1990s, it was basically used for branch shunting.

ND4 is an imported diesel locomotive that has not been used in the early 21st century, so there is no chance to meet with the majority of young Chinese fans. Looking back at the film era of photography, ND4 images are very rare. The only ND4 No. 15 locomotive was handed over to the collection of China Railway Museum in 2013.

Dongfeng 2 is a shunting diesel locomotive manufactured by Qishuyan Locomotive Works from 1964 to 1974, with a total of 148 units produced. The Dongfeng 3 was mass-produced by Dalian Locomotive Factory in 1969. It is a dual-purpose diesel locomotive for passenger and cargo, with a total of 226 units produced.

"Lao Dongfeng" used to be the main diesel locomotive of China's railway transportation. From the 1970s to the 1980s, it was the heyday of "Lao Dongfeng". The green train, the green carriage, the green window, and the good memories of green start from "Old Dongfeng", "Old Dongfeng" is an unforgettable memory!
