How durable is DCF... really?
These DCF wallets in the photo, which I made, have all been in use for 6–9 years.
That said, they're made from DCF Hybrid with a polyester face fabric. Using something like 1.43 oz DCF as the outer material for an everyday wallet simply isn't practical. From a functional standpoint, it doesn't make sense, unless you're chasing a certain aesthetic or subscribing to the "beautiful but impractical" philosophy.
On the other hand, DCF users sometimes group into two completely opposite stories:
"Mine tore after just a few days."
"I've been using mine for years without a problem."
Both can be true.
It's neither indestructible as some enthusiasts would have you believe, nor as fragile as its critics often claim.
Without considering the specific product, the use case, it's hard to make honest and fair claims about DCF.
