The caliper says 4.05mm. But there is more behind this number.
For tempered glass lids, a thickness tolerance of around ±0.2mm can be normal.
However, having a tolerance does not mean we stop paying attention to thickness.
Before production, we inspect the raw glass material and try to keep the actual thickness as close as possible to the required specification.
Because consistent raw material makes production easier to control—and helps us maintain greater consistency from one batch to the next.
This is a small detail that many people may not see in the finished product.
But for a cookware lid manufacturer, quality control often starts long before the final inspection.
Do you check the actual thickness when sourcing glass lids?
