Our cacao based agroforestry systems don’t just produce great chocolate.
They help to support a biodiverse and abundant ecosystem. In recent years our farm has become a haven for birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals both living here and passing through the wider biological corridor Corredor Biológico Paso de Las Lapas
When seen from above the contrast between our neighbours dry and eroding cow pasture is stark.
Since we first posted this video a couple of years ago we have planted well over 4000 more trees. Amongst those are native forest trees from Parque Nacional La Cangreja.carefully selected cacao hybrids and countless other fruit and spice trees.
We have been working with friends to build lists of all the species we see on the farm throughout the year. If this sounds like something you would be interested in collaborating on, we’d love to hear from you!
